Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, and nine others, have been honoured by the Ogun State chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).

The traditional ruler was honoured with the Best King Author award for his contributions to the development of the writing industry, together with nine other writers in the state.

Honoured were the Publisher of Prestige Newspaper, Mr. Dada Olaonipekun, Dr. Sola Adetutu, Dr. Lucky Aikabeli, Pastor Oludotun Adekoya, Otunba Dada Korede, Dr. Segun Ashade, Olori (Deaconess) Olubunmi Olatidoye, Comrade Onkowe Onileagbon and Comrade Passover Adesina.

ANA Chairman in the state, Engr. Paul Oni in his address, said Oba Tejuoso was honoured because of the impacts he has made with his books, describing the monarch as one of the best authors and writers in the state.

According to him, “Kabiyesi hit the waves with vibes from strokes of his pen with ‘Ripples on, So Far, So Memorable; ‘The Royal Roots’; ‘The Triumph of Light over Darkness’; ‘The Prophetic Promises of GOD’; and the 3 huge volumes of ‘My 30 years Stewardship on the Throne of my Forefathers’, the list goes on. Like Kongi will say, the Tigritude of a Tiger in Kabiyesi’s inbuilt writers’ Instinct remained in him inspite of the Throne.

“We decided to give Kabiyesi Osile, Oba (Dr.) Adedapo Tejuoso this honour, because we’ve monitored him and we discovered that despite being on the throne as Kabiyesi, he keeps writing books and his books have gotten a lot of reviews from some of our leaders in ANA and we saw the remarks among the populace.

“You can imagine that he even wrote a book as rejoinder to one of his books after reviews from the public; he’s a great author, that is why we decided to honour him”, he added. Osile, in his remarks, described the award as a prophecy coming to pass.
Stating that he cherishes writing, the Oba boasted of writing both historical and spiritual books for the benefit of mankind.
“I am thankful to Almighty God for making me witness a day like this. I am very grateful to all of you who are present and of course, it would not have been possible if not for the Oloris, who give me peace of mind, support and encouragement in life”, he concluded.
