The Senate has approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to appoint new 20 special advisers.

This was after the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read the letter from the President, at plenary on Tuesday.

Senate Leader, Senator Ibrahim Gobir (APC, Sokoto East), had urged the Senate, in a motion, to “consider the request of Mr. President C-in-C for the approval of the Senate to appoint 20 Special Advisers.”

This was seconded by the Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda.

Tinibu had earlier announced the appointment of Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker House of the House of Representatives, as his Chief of Staff (CSO), Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, former Deputy Governor of Jigawa as Deputy COS and Senator George Akume, erstwhile Minister of Special Duties, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
